Well we're talking about support for .Z files inside the anonftp package.

I'm not sure if it's exactly so useful for anonymous ftp anymore. If gzip
can be coaxed into manipulating .Z files inside anonftp that's fine, if not
I'm not going to go to do anything to fix it.
