Good questions. This is the actual first attempt to package apache2 and to 
have people testing it out.

The easiest way for you is to download my packages (with db4 support) or from 
contrib mirrors (with db3 support), it's too much to explain. Apache v2.x is 
something _very_ different from apache v1.x You can run both at the same 
machine, at the same time, but there's no php support for apache2 yet. 
There's no support I know of of other 3:rd part apache DSO modules for 
apache2. But you will have for example mod_ssl. mod_dav and others in 
apache2, they come with the source, most are compiled as DSO:s.

Consider Apache v2.x as unstable, and apache v1.3.24 as stable.
