Yea I saw that.. so what i did was i tryed it the normal way..  just starting 
up with kdm.. and it did what i said below..   then i edited 
/usr/bin/startkde3 so that it would completely use .kde instead of .kde3  and 
then i moved the folder over and it was totally screwed up..  it was like 
halfway using .kde and .kde3   it was just a mess..   so i put it back to 
using .kde3


befor problems like this were fixed be deleting .kde3/share/applnk*   and 
reloading kde..   well that did'nt do it..  SOOoo..   its more than just a 
problem with moving stuff over..   

I loged in as a new user and let it set it all up..  and with that one it was 
all messed up also..
