Hello, I am using an old Acer Extensa 670CDT and a Dell Inspiron 7000.
Someone else aske me if I had a patched kernel ? Well, only if the stock Cooker kernel is patched (that's what we are here for isn't it ? :-) ). I am currently using kernel-2.4.18.16mdk-1-1mdk. Another couple of observations ! 1) With this kernel the laptop just goes off when the battery runs flat ! 2) At re-power up APM reports 72%, but within a couple of minutes there is a console output saying BIOS reports power at 6% !! 3) If you happen to be copying files from a parport Zip drive when the power goes out the Zip drive remains locked with the motor whirring and presumably copying into the ether for ever !
