O.K. so update-menus is built against gcc-3.1 and requires libgcc_s 3.1 and segfaults with older libgcc_s (presumably from 3.0). But it does not specify any dependency on gcc 3.1 and both 3.0 and 3.1 provide this library.
It is not quite polite in respect to users :-) Please, if it is not possible to resolve confusion between libgcc 3.0 and 3.1 at least put requires libgcc >= 3.1 into menu specs. BTW why does it need shared libgcc_s? By default gcc will use static version. -andrej
