Hum. From memory, usually when there are problems mapping
IP/hostname on a networked machine, problems arise. If your
machine isn't networked, localhost should resolve to 127.0.0.1
and opposite.

Anyway, what is the error message? How the problem arises?

Also, if the problem also happens with vanilla software, it's
probably not a mandrake package "bug" but in the original
software, where the bug should be reported.
