To see something, you need to do ctrl + alt + + (plus key) to switch between resolution, so now you get 800x600 for your crt, and 800x600 for your TV. To have a permanent output, just replace NULL by whatever resolution needed (note that depending on the chipset, you will not be able to go further than 800x600 or 1024x768 (if i remember well : bt848/878 or bt879).
