Does not work for me either.
I have libalsa2-devel and there Is No libasound.so1

[charles@localhost charles]$ locate libasound |less
/usr/lib/libasound.la
/usr/lib/libasound.so
/usr/lib/libasound.so.2
/usr/lib/libasound.so.2.0.0
