Hi, you still haven't supplied me with a detailed description. Send me the output of xine on the terminal. Have you selected the right audio plugin in the configuration dialog? Do you have sound in xine without KDE running? Try to start it without esd or artsd running in a different environment, e.g. icewm. Finally you can try to remove your configuration file ( $HOME/.xine ) and let xine regenerate it.
