i believe this is the "bootsplash*.rpm"

rpm -qa bootslash

if you see it turn up, then do:

rpm -e bootsplash

this will remove the bootsplash from the system.


Granite. it's a good rpm for the corporate enviroment where you want to
keep people from seeing all that stuff and you have hired a sys admin to
maintain it. but for normal users, it blocks allot of stuff that we need
to see.
