"ls -R"? Use "find". I personally don't have slocate installed, but then again, I always disable fastfind in Windows also. Guess I'm a masochist, or just somebody who only wants my disks to "thrash" when I'm actually looking for something across the entire system - doesn't happen often. TTFN, Lonnie Borntreger
