Sorry for the follow-up. It appears now that the fat and vfat modules are also compiled for 2.4.18-6 on the PCMCIA.img disk and NOT for the 2.4.18-21 kernel.
Therefore I can't mount anything with the rescue! Cheers, R.Fox
