the best thing will be :
+ make the core of rpmdrake/mdktools GUI independant
+ make a wrapper or 2 package with the gtk/qt version

are you silly !

look on a server I can insrtall rpmdrake and mdktools without installing
gnome or kde because it's mdk_gtk which is use for the GUI ( Note : I
hope they will port it to gtk 2 soon ).
qt is a big librairy ( the same for gtk ). mdkuse use mdk_gtk which is a
lighweight gtk, making the same thing with may not be so easy.

with a core reaaly GUI independant, you may make 3 package : one with
gtk-mdk ( the small ), one with full/normal gtk and one with qt

scriptting is easier with perl
