Hmmm, I'm not a pppd expert.  I can dial up to my ISP just fine.  What
is it that I must do to force "deflate" compression?  Are you talking
about VJ compression?  My isp (using kppp) using VJ and I can both send
and receive compressed and uncompressed headers with no problem.  Can
you give me more detail to see if I can reproduce it?
