I know it is meant to be for a modem sharing machine (which is what I use it for), but there's no reason for it not to be suitable for this purpose. I normally set it up to use 'ifup ppp0' and 'ifdown ppp0', so I have never seen these problems myself. This is another of the RPMs on my todo list for 9.0 ... fix it up so that out the box it works with ppp0. Of course, this still leaves you with a process running as root :-(. TLS would also be nice.
