Mandrake 9.0 BETA 1 Install notes:
Install system:
Dell GX1
400MHz Intel Procesor
3COM 3C905B NIC
6 GB HD
First Install Attemp:
Checked md5sums on all three iso's with possitive results
Loopback mounted first cd to dir and exported from nfs that dir
Install from 'Network' Floppy using NFS export from server (Speed decent!!)
Selected Expert/Install
Partitions:
HDA1 - 250MB /boot
HDA2 - 512MB swap
HDA3 - Remainder /
Selected ALL categories to install w/o individual package selection
Error Installing:
initsvripts-6.40.2-45mdk.i586
Pressed 'Yes' to continue and it looped
Pressed 'No' to cancel and it went back to Category selection
Pressed Continue and it hung.
Second Install Attemp:
Install from 'Network' Floppy using NFS export from server (Speed decent)
Selected Recomended
Custom Partitions
Just reset mount points - same as above - and reformated HDA3
Selected all Categories - No Individual package selection
Errored out on locales-en..... switched to tty3? before error and many files
were bad?
Possible problem with using NFS as indications on "bad" files differs
I guess I WILL burn the CDs...

Installing from CDs...
Install went flawlessly. (Guess I don't pay as much attention to 'slight'
problems...I'll try harder next time)
Also had problem with konquerer segfaulting (11) when selecting '...I already
have an account/thanks'.
Testing apps/etc...More to come.
