A small report about the install of beta1.
Actually the install went without problems, exept for the strange start (it said I
didn't use the
standard image or something, sorry didn't write down, but just selecting cdrom went
ok).

A few minor things:

At selecting security level, under the box selecting the security level it says:
'Security Administrator (login or email)'. I do not understand
why this is there.

In a lot of places, it still says Mandrake 8.2. In the 'commercials' during package
installation it talks about versions
of KDE and GNOME which seem to be outdated.

The new faces are wonderfull! (who took the pictures on a holiday?).

I never understood why both atd and anacron have to be started as service
automatically. They are not used by
any standard programs?

There are 'commercials' during the package installation of mandrake-expert, -campus,
-consulting, -store but NOT
about mandrakeclub. This seems important ($$$) to me.

I choose 'dutch' to see how the translation looked:

Licence screen, in help box: 'verdergaat' should be 'verder gaat'

At the choosing of security level, I see the first sentence (Please choose the disired
security level) in english. Should be:
'Kies het gewenste veiligheids niveau', or something similar.

Network detection: the word 'bespeuring' sounds silly to me, better use 'detectie'.

xinetd, hpoj and all 'other' services have no translation.

escaped the chronicler's mind."

- -- This line perhaps best sums up the whole book.
