I'm from Slovenia and there are troubles with installing native
slovenian ttf fonts under Mandrake basic install.

1. Problems
ghostscript 6.53 that is included doesn't support them as it should
(probably mainly by lacking support of pt3)
Font installer calls ttf2pt1 that destroys native information from ttf font.

2. Solution
upgrading to ghostscript 7> (this one works well without any trouble)
avoiding font installer in Mandrake conrol center by manualy editing
either /etc/X11/fs/config (that was my first solution) or making my own
user based deamon that calls

for {each-linked-directory} I call
xset fp+ $1
and after that
xset fp rehash
for each linked folder in some activated fonts directory (at least
that's how I've solved that problem)
by logout I just reset that with fp-

works well for me now (just as some Adobe Type Manager (for every user
different), except that I just link folder in nautilus and use my own
program that controlls changes of fonts folder trough FAM).
But calling ttf2pt1 will break languages so upgrading to 7> will be
necessary and changing Font installer to install native ttf fonts.

p.s. That's not really a big problem but it is annoying, and as I saw
that cooker uses 6.53 and same font installer I've decided to mail this
down to you

thanks, matjaz
