With "recommended" anything, I believe you're going to get thrown more than 
1.2g of data. Unfortunately tha's how it is with Drake (or so I've found out)

As far as ths, it all depends on the packages you have installed, what you 
WANT installed. If you've got anything of an Xwindows system, you're looking 
at needing more than 1.2g easily enough.
What I'd suggest doing is going through, upgrading, selecting the packages you 
want ONLY.. Keep your eye on the disk usage that this is going to take up (at 
the bottom right hand corner I think is where you'll see that). If you want 
to actually USE that drive, or that partition on a daily basis, you'll need 
better than 1.2g of data though.
