Apologies if this is already known

When going through the drakconnect wizard with a wireless pcmcia card
installed (I use Melco with wvlan_cs driver)

First the wizard probes the card, and despite correctly identifying the card
it still offers up a menu to select a driver. The wvlan_cs driver is not in
the list. Pressing 'Previous' allows you to proceed with configuring the
wirelesss parameters.  :(

The list of Wireless parameters can then be filled in :

On selecting 'OK' I am then requested to fill in Host/DNS server and Gateway.

On selecting 'OK' The file /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcgh-eth0 gets
rewritten and the wireless parameters are appended to the file. The file then
looks like this :-
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=static
IPADDR=192.168.1.42
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
NETWORK=192.168.1.0
BROADCAST=192.168.1.255
ONBOOT=yes
HWADDR=00:60:1d:f2:ff:97
WIRELESS_MODE=Managed
WIRELESS_ESSID=8848DBjennings
WIRELESS_RATE=11M
WIRELESS_ENC_KEY=s:mykey

The window then tells me I need to restart the network. I click 'OK'
And then I click 'OK' again when it tells me it is going to apply the
configuration to my system.

At this point I can pull the PCMCIA card out and put it back in again and it
all works OK. Note however if I replace the card with a 10/100 LAN card, it
does NOT work. :( This is because the wizard has saved the MAC address in
the configuration, despite not having been requested to, either during
installation, or in the wizard itself. (There is no option to prevent saving
MAC address in the wizard)

If I edit the file to remove the MAC address hot plugging between wireless and
ethernet works fine.   :)

Now Remember : I still have drakconnect open after having completed the
wizard. If I now click 'OK' to close drakconnect. An empty dialogue box
appears, goes away, and drakconnect closes.

However, when closing it rewrites /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
and removes all the Wireless parameters. It also restarts the network, so my
card is no longer working. :(

My ifcfg-eth0 file is now
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=static
IPADDR=192.168.1.42
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
NETWORK=192.168.1.0
BROADCAST=192.168.1.255
ONBOOT=yes

I am using drakxtools-1.1.9-11mdk
