Does anyone know what is causing this bug & what to do about it when it has
happened?

I have noticed on the alt.os.linux.mandrake newsgroup someone else has the
same problem:

hi all, hey I just had the strangest thing happen, I went to add and
remove programs in mandrake 9.0 beta kde x window manager and added some
screensavers and when it said congradulations and I quite half my
options in my menu bar were gone and all the icons on my task bar are
now just the wheel star icons not the normal ones as before


what the f*@k happend!!!!!!!!!!
