Question...
I have not tried the mrproper other than with after downloading from kernel.org. I seem to have a very strong memory that mrproper wipes out the kernel config parameters unless you save them somewhere and copy them back... It seems a little odd to have to do a mrproper with the source from a distro... but whatever. I'd just like to check to be sure that SOMETHING talks about "Hey there is a config file, and be careful with it..." that is, if my memory still holds... ? And yes, if a distro has compiled a certain way with certain patches, it should have some "requirements" statement about what and why. Talk about the root of all dependencies... sheesh... For example, what all is going to break, known, if you get kernel source yourself and just build it ? The "user" should not have to go un-rpm-crunch kernel source-mdk-blah and parse through it... There should be a readme. -AEF On Thursday 15 August 2002 07:04 pm, andre wrote: > On Friday 16 August 2002 01:09, Rolf Pedersen wrote: > > Probably not.
