Hi,
I don't really understand what's happening here, but ypbind seems
to fail at start-up, maybe because it is started too early?

Here is the syslog (notre how the time tags are out of order):

Aug 19 10:16:16 kernel: Installing knfsd (copyright (C) 1996
[EMAIL PROTECTED]).
Aug 19 10:16:16 nfslock: rpc.lockd startup succeeded

Aug 19 10:16:16 nfslock: rpc.statd startup succeeded

Aug 19 10:16:16 ypbind: ypbind startup succeeded

Aug 19 10:15:44 rc.sysinit: Setting clock (localtime): Mon Aug

eral.eng.trimble.com:  succeeded
Aug 19 10:15:44 rc.sysinit: Setting NIS domain name hpux_nis:
succeeded

Once the machine is up, I can restart ypbind:

$ sudo /etc/init.d/ypbind restart
Shutting down NIS services:                  [FAILED]
Binding to the NIS domain... [ OK ]
Listening for an NIS domain server: my.ntp.server

Weird.
