I noticed this too.  What security level did you install your system with?
I used higher.  devfs is not a kernel module in the mdk-secure kernel.  I
did some research and it seems there's a small security issue with devfs,
which is probably what keeps it from being considered secure.  I tried using
devfs in the non-secure kernel, and all the init scripts freaked out
probably because the secure install isn't set up to use the devfs filenames.
I always thought devfs would be neat, but it wasn't too important to me, so
I gave up.
