Hi,

This is a resend since the first message got apparently lost.

I don't quite understand what is happening here, but there is a
boot message (ypwhich: Can't communicate with ypbind), and here
is what I get in the syslog (not the time tags out of order):

Aug 19 17:35:24 kernel: Installing knfsd (copyright (C) 1996

When the machine is initialized, I can restart ypbind without any
problem:

$ sudo /etc/init.d/ypbind restart
Shutting down NIS services:                        [FAILED]
Binding to the NIS domain... [ OK ]
Listening for an NIS domain server: my.domain.server
