CD-ROM installation in graphical mode fails (while loading 2nd stage).
Same with vgalo. Text installation runs (but I have issues with the
partitioning, I will spare you the story involving hitting clear by
mistake, then exit, then writing the partition table, then spending a
few hours getting intimate with gpart ....).
8.2 installation works, but fails in X configuration. Booting 8.2 works,
but XFdrake testing kills the machine (magic keys work to shut the
machine down though).
Btw, Knoppix 3.1 works fine, even with working GLX (radeon driver). I
have attached the output of lspci -v and lsmod when running Knoppix 3.1
It is actually quite sad that Knoppix 3.1 works better than 8.2 or
9.0betas, with dynamic configuration (eg, Knoppix has working sound on a
laptop of a friend, but there's no way I can get 8.2 to have working sound).
