I did just test it with my old computer. It has a 6326 and i updated it to the 
newest version of X. It seems to work allright. What you could do is replace 
the file /usr/X11/lib/modules/drivers/sis_drv.o from cooker with the one from 
8.2 and see if you still have problems. If not than it is due to the patch 
for 630 but if not than the problem is because ofsomething else.
