I *think* that treble and bass only work for 1 set of speakers (the front ones
usually).

Check your modules.conf, I think the card is setup to use alsa by default. Those tools
are
probably not compatible with alsa. You can switch to OSS using cookers'latest
drakxtools (sounddrake).
