Hi,

Where has the file search option gone in rpmdrake ? I found this very useful
for finding the packages which contained missing libraries if I knew the
library name.

For example, when a package eg. opera, fails to install due to a missing
library eg. libqt.so.2, the name of the package is unknown. So by using
Mandrake 8.2 rpmdrake it was possible to search for the library to find the
missing package and therefore install the package. In Mandrake 9.0 rpmdrake
it appears that the file search option is missing.

This going to annoy users in Mandrake 9.0 when installing downloaded rpms
using the rpm command line because they can no longer determine the package
which contains the missing library by using rpmdrake.

Oh well, I'll go back to using kpackage which does have a file search but is
not as good as the file search in Mandrake 8.2 rpmdrake.

My opinion is new releases should be backwards compatible, you could put the
file search option in as an advanced option.

Dean.
