Just ran the expert install on Beta4. I get to; Enable extINT on cpu #0 ESR value before enabline vector 00000002 then nothing. Machine stops. No HD/CD activity. Nothing. But I do not get a black blank screen in text mode. I still get a black screen lock up if I hit the enter key at the initial screen. Mandrake 8.2 and Redhat both work fine, as does XP(sorry) Matt
Install issue with 9beta 3. Maybe I lost my brain for a week, but I burned the ISO image to CD, booted OK, then hit enter to install Mandrake 9. The blue bar moved left to right on the bottom of the window, then the machine locked up. Checked the CheckSum and it was OK. Unable to perform an Install. Tried basic BIOS settings too. It just plain stops. MSI K7T266 Pro2 board, VIA chip set, Athlon 1900+, 512 MB Crucial DDRAM PC2700 cas 2.5. Nvidia GTS2ti video, WDC 30GB UDMA100 disk. Getting beta 4 now and will try that one. Have not had this issue with any prior releases of Mandrake. Matt
