I've just done a cooker install on my laptop (Compaq presario 1220 (Cyrix Media GX -> with sound and graphics features embedded in processor)- neomagic graphic card).
I have some notes about X configuration at install :
- It ask me about an Xfree server (driver) (??? It didn't
asked me about that in previous versions -> regression ?)
and next to choose wich card/xinerama I want to use
("media gx (gc integrated in processor)", "cognac" (the
chipset), "" (??? - no entry in lspcidrake ), and the
neomagic card (the gc)). Why ask for a server before ?
- Mdk is able to detect a laptop (pcmcia,...).
Why the monitor by default isn't a generic flat panel for
laptops at monitor selection (if the monitor hasn't been
detected)?
