Whenever xscreensaver is triggered from the Gnome menu (Actions | Lock Screen) I'm seeing debugging (?) messages, in yellow Courier font, of the form:
12:59:08: xscreensaver: LOCK ClientMessage received: activated and locking (and about 10 similar lines) with, at the end: sent key ... on a new line every time I type a character of my password to unlock the screen. This happens with 'normal' screensavers, not the OpenGL ones.
