I just performed a new install on my notebook again - and it still sets
the wrong entry in the /etc/modules/conf file.
Your suggestion from below works like a charm!! My question is, WHY
the snd-intel8x0 instead of the CS46xx?
The notebook is a Gateway 9150LX.
Could you please remove the "above snd-cs46xx snd-pcm-oss" entry from
the /etc/modules/conf file and add the suggested lines from below for
this chipset as default for new installs?
