Hi,
I've posted this problem some time ago, but because it is still
happening with kernel 2.4.19-8mdk, so I send it again.
The scanner is an Agfa SnapScan 156s connected to an aha152x ISA
SCSI-card. It is recognised fine by sane-find-scanner on /dev/sg0
When I press the Acquire Preview button in xscanimage, the system hangs
with the caps lock and scroll lock leds blinking. I can reboot the
machine by pressing Alt-SysRq-b. I don't see any message in
/var/log/kernel related to this crash.
At the first reboot after the crash, the scanner is nog recognized
anymore by the kernel, and this errors relating to the aha152x drivers
are in dmesg:

aha152x: BIOS test: passed, detected 1 controller(s)

(scsi0:2:0) cannot reset current device
aha152x0: scsi reset in

Nevertheless the aha152x drivers seems to be loaded finally, with the
output of /proc//proc/scsi/aha152x/0 being:

But, as I said already, no scanner detected by dmesg and
sane-find-scanner.
I have attached the complete output of dmesg before and after the crash.
Let me know if more information is needed, I'm not sure how to debug
this problem.
