I think that is a very good idea. I always wanted to see a interface that the grandma's and grandpa's of the world can use. I was even considering coming up with a windows manager of my own, but never found the time to even start.

I ran across the www.oeone.com project which is based on RedHat 7.3 It appears to be Open Sourced and presently doesn't support other Linux distros. This would be an awesome "addon" to mandrake for "newbies" - I could imagine during the install you can choose between "classic" Mandrake Linux or the OeOne version (and be able to switch between them) I realize those of us who are "hard core" Linux users will scoff at such an idea - but I see only Value Add here to an already fantastic distribution! I know, crazy idea . . . going back to my little universe. Please don't flame. Check it out - it's very interesting stuff . . . Things just keep getting better in the Open Source world!
