Things are shaping up nicely! Two things I noticed in DrakX: While packages are installing, looking at it in advertising mode (aka non-detailed view) you have an image of Mandrake Linux 9.0, with text of Thank you for choosing Mandrake Linux 9.0 under it, but not far enough under, they actually partially overlap.
Switch to detailed view, and for some packages the summary line is wider than the box, so they just get lost out the sides (some examples are rpmdrake and toppler). Maybe there could be two lines here and they could word wrap? Speaking of rpmdrake, I finally took a minute to look at it, and so far I'm very impressed! I can't comment much on the most important piece, MandrakeUpdate, until after release and I've had a chance to use it >:| but it looks like it'll actually work anyway :o) In the Install software mode of rpmdrake, the sort by selection state confused me. I dunno what that's supposed to mean. One suggestion the right (description) pane there, since I know you've been wrestling with that. Instead of the right click there, have two tabs. The left one would show the normal description, and the right one would show the extra stuff the detailed desc shows (source, files, changelog). Wouldn't complicate the GUI, and would be much more intuitive. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Finance - Get real-time stock quotes http://finance.yahoo.com
