Exactly, I was looking in dev and loop devs were there, but mkinitrd
kept complaining it hasn't got them.
Maybe it mounts devfs over the dev, just for the time when it is run,
and there are no loop devs on that devfs?

IIRC, I've made that log with the "script" command. It leaves terminal
control characters in the stream, you're probably seeing them. They are
OK there.

I'll try, but currently I don't have access to that machine. Weekend, maybe.

Oh, forgot to bring those...
OK, I'll try (but don't promise anything, I'll have to upgrade the
machine again, don't know whether I'll have time...)

OK, I've deleted it. It was full of garbage (probably resulting from
ReiserFS suffering sudden power-out during installation attempt 1? nut
why in attempt 2 which was completed cleanly?)

BTW, the release preparation is moving too fast, I think that September
is too early for release of 9.0 final. Quality release is more important
that a deadline (I'd like to voice that opinion as a Mandrake supporter,
tester and silver MandrakeClub member).
