rpm --rebuilddb typically helps in this case. This seems to happen occasionally after large update, or parallel urpmi runs (one day it happened to me whilst I was doing a big --auto-select with cooker and rpm was installing, and simultaneously I did urpme of an unrelated packge counting that locking will block the operation like it seems to be in 8.2. However, urpme finished almost immediately and the update started producing errors, but it finished successfully at the end) Unrelated to this, I have been seeing following errors and seg faults from urpmi since yesterday: ==> fdClose(0x86e0850) rc ffffffff | LIBIO 0x87eeac0(-1) fdno -1 | UFD 6 fp 0x87eeac0 ==> fdClose(0x86e0850) rcSegmentation fault Afther the seg fault (it was yesterday), I updated first just urpmi, and next --auto-select went ok. Another machine today, I did see the same thing and after updating just urpmi, the problem still persist with --auto-select. Both machines are updated daily or every other day with cooker so they are reasonably up to date. Any ideas? Teemu
