On saturday, 07-Sep-2002, I've made test runs with RC1.

First, clean install of 8.2 and upgrade to 9.0 RC1.
Second, clean install of 9.0 RC1 from scratch.

My home machine info can be found here:
<http://olo.office.altkom.com.pl/domowa/qa/mandrake/9.0/rc1/home_machine/>
machine.html describes hardware specs.

I've found several problems that I'm going to describe in separate mails
on this list.
-=======================-
Problem 4:
Unsatisfied dependencies for RPMs after a fresh install

Full details, HTML version of this report here:
<http://olo.office.altkom.com.pl/domowa/qa/mandrake/9.0/rc1/home_machine/problems/unsatisfied_dependencies/info.html>

-===========-

    Unsatisfied dependencies for RPMs after a fresh install

After a clean installation of 9.0 RC1 (onto clean, formatted partitions,
no upgrade) there are unsatisfied dependencies for some packages in the
system.

To see them, one only has to perform verification of all installed
packages with "rpm -Va"

Full logs of the verification are here:
before executing "rpm --rebuilddb"
<http://olo.office.altkom.com.pl/domowa/qa/mandrake/9.0/rc1/home_machine/problems/unsatisfied_dependencies/rpm_-Va.bz2>
after executing "rpm --rebuilddb"
<http://olo.office.altkom.com.pl/domowa/qa/mandrake/9.0/rc1/home_machine/problems/unsatisfied_dependencies/rpm_-Va_after_rpm_--rebuilddb.bz2>

Grep for "Unsatisfied" on the second log shows those errors:

Unsatisfied dependencies for gcj-tools-3.2-1mdk: kaffe < 1.0.7-1mdk
Unsatisfied dependencies for kdemultimedia-3.0.3-3mdk: TiMidity++
Unsatisfied dependencies for kaffe-1.0.7-0.2mdk: kaffe < 1.0.7-1mdk, kaffe <
1.0.7-1mdk
Unsatisfied dependencies for TiMidity++-2.11.3-1mdk: TiMidity++, TiMidity++

The "TiMidity++-2.11.3-1mdk", "kaffe-1.0.7-0.2mdk" packages /are/
installed on my system.
