It's the fact that you're not using GNOME and/or gnome-terminal. Do me a favor and try to run it from a gnome-terminal and let me know if it works (it should). >> linuxconf uses consolehelper now, so you can just run linuxconf as a >> normal user and it will ask for the root password. >> > That's what's supposed to happen - but I get the same problem (it does > as for root password though!) > >> But the new su, in sh-utils-2.0.15-2mdk should prevent these errors... >> I've been using linuxconf all morning for testing and couldn't once >> reproduce this. >> > Tell me what you need and I'll try to provide it! Try the gnome-terminal thing. I really have *no* clue why this is happening except that maybe gnome-linuxconf is over a year old with no updates and maybe doesn't work with GTK2... I have to try to remove all GTK2 files and try to rebuild it to see if it will work then. -- MandrakeSoft Security; http://www.mandrakesecure.net/ "lynx - source http://linsec.ca/vdanen.asc | gpg --import" {FE6F2AFD: 88D8 0D23 8D4B 3407 5BD7 66F9 2043 D0E5 FE6F 2AFD}
