IMHO: As a once newbie linux user, I remember being confused by this. It should matter, and they should be installed! Mandrake is by no means a minimalist distro. And if memory serves correctly, I think I manually had to link gunzip to unzip, or else ark complained... but that was a long time ago. I don't quite remember. -Mark Piper
