If it's any consolation, the message in Gnome 2.0.1 is 'Sorry, couldn't display all of the contents of "<drive>"'. Slightly better, but it's difficult to display any contents, never mind some of them, when there's no disk in the drive ;) It's not a Mandrake problem, and I'll start up a thread on [gnome-usability] about this.
