Hello,
I installed Mandrake 9.0RC3 today. Well my first attempt at install failed
after the installer attempted to install a bootloader, it was not reading
CD1, that it was requesting, I tried cleaning the cd, that didn't work. So
I had to turn off the computer and go throw the entire install again. This
time MD9.0RC3 installed perfectly, so I am assuming the first time, was
just a computer glitch on my hardware's part, or maybe not. Well after I
installed, I rebooted and after a few minutes of a black screen it loaded a
mandrake setup screen, which I followed and completed. Then I played around
in gnome for a bit. After a while I had to reboot back to windows to
retrieve my mozilla bookmarks, so I did a system shut reboot. When I
attempted to boot Mandrake9RC3 again, this time xwindows did not load. I
just get a black blank unresponsive screen. I tried CRTL-ALT-f1,
CRTL-ALT-F7, and then CRTL-ALT-Backspace and nothing. I have used
Redhat7.3, Mandrake8.0 and 8.1 on this computer and they have all loaded x
fine. I have only had problems with 8.2 and 9.0RC3. Here is my system
configuration: 1.6ghz AMD, 768mbDDR ram, 80gb & 30gb IDE hdds, CD-RW,
DVD-ROM, Sound Blaster Live 5.1, Geforce2ti 64mbDDR vram, and an ATI
Tv-tuner. Thank-you.
