No, I think if you can get the original source tarball, then in most cases (ie the package maintainter ensured everything besides sources went into cvs), it should be possible by: $ cvs co <package> -r <release> $ build_from_cvs <package> (where build_from_cvs is my bash script that put all the stuff in cvs in the right place in the right form, ie bzip2'ed or not, and then runs rpm -ba <package>.spec).
