I have a MSI 845G Max motherboard with onboard video, sound and game
controller. I installed MDH9.0rc3 (Same problem previously with MDK9
beta4 through rc2) and the installer correctly
determined that the board has a built-in Intel 82845G/GL graphic
controller. (MDK8.2 doesn't even detect the onboard video.)
However, X will not run on this machine. It tries to start, (I get a
weird pattern of horizontal bars) and then it dies.
Does anybody have any ideas on what to try so that I can get X running?
(On previous posts I tried including the contents of XFree86.0.log
pasted at the bottom of the message, but the e-mail never seemed to be
received on the list. Is there a limit on the size of posts to this
list? If anybody wants to see the XFree86.0.log generated when X fails
to launch, I can send it directly to them)
