Yes, IMO we really need to move to volumagic (userspace automounter by Alan Cox, but
it still needs some work. But it would be better to invest in this than in supermount).

uh? Do a mkdosfs on the floppy? I do not really understsand, it is already a dosfs? 
And why
would it show contents that I formatted? (a real format is suppose to overwrite 
everything, so
how can it be reverted? And why would I want it?)

Yes, although there is a 'sync' option in my fstab line.
