Try K3b it works very well, It is the only one I use. Like you said all the 
others are a pain in the neck. K3b does use cdrdao which is in contribs. Make 
sure you do the setup then reboot and all will work very well. It is a very 
professional looking program also, with nice artwork. I use it to burn all my 
ISO's while testing the betas. Just select write ISO image in the toolbar and 
select the iso you want to burn.
