okay on my abit ab-px5 board with a pentium-mmx @200 MHz 160 mb ram the 
install locked up when trying to load stage2.
alt0 boot image was:
Fatal error stage1: not a directory
alt1 boot image
/tmp/image/Mandrake/base/mdk_inst_stage2_bz2
/dev/ram3 on /tmp/stage2 as type ext2
alt2 boot image
reading compressed ramdisk io_error

looks like it is actually something with the pentium-mmx cpu itself, as 
opposed to just the older pentiums.
(there were at least two people that have successfully gotten 9.0 onto a 
133 and a 166 MHz pentium resectively )
