Read that message a little too fast. I said solaris though, because that is the only architecture I've experienced the problem on. The problem doesn't depend on architecture though.
I found the problem and have fixed it, so it'll be in KDE 3.1. I calculated a packet size incorrectly. What I don't understand is why when I tested kio_sftp against the openssh-server ver 3.4p1 on Mandrake 8.2 I didn't experience the problem. I should have. In fact, this problem should show up when using any version of openssh. Weird.
