Have you try running gendistrib before running mkcd?

For me, I usually run
1) gendistrib --distrib /home/u02/Mandrake/cooker
2) MakeCD -t /home/u01/Mandrake-Cooker -a  /home/u02/Mandrake/cooker

if your network card can be detect during installation, U can just create the
first CD and install the rest through nfs. To create the first CD I use

- -> MakeCD -t /home/u01/Mandrake-Cooker -a -c 1  /home/u02/Mandrake/cooker

Then again, if the kernel is being upgraded, u will have to recreate the cd
again.

hope this will help.
